[Spoilers] Pigtails | Anime Discussion

I decided to watch this before checking out the authors newly adapted work COCOON and this was a really strange yet interesting watch But Im not sure how I feel about it or what it was trying to say especially with that ending. So I wanted to see if anyone else had a read on it 260https://i.ur.com/jAO7aRd.png 260https://i.ur.com/3vWKQV8.png 260https://i.ur.com/X43meMm.png 260https://i.ur.com/V4575Pe.png For me my interpretation is that the girl chose to stay in the end because she wished to live a happy comfortable life surrounded by memories and things that she loves and being able to get recycled into helping others in need rather than running away with the boy and leaving the things she cares about and the people she COULD help behind. But Im not really satisfied with that conclusion I feel like Im not quite grasping the message its trying to tell or what compelled her to make that choice... So what do you guys think it is? What do you think Pigtails is trying to convey or what are your interpretations of it? Is it a good adaptation of the original manga? And regardless of whether you understand it or not did you enjoy it?
