Ive never written a review for any piece of media before so dont expect too much from it. This is probably the only one Ill do here. Ill also try to make this review as spoiler free as possible
Have you ever wondered if there were aliens living among mankind? Well this is basically the plot of Please Save My Earth/ Boku no Chikyuu no Mamotte.
Based on the manga of the same name and produced by an anime studio youre probably familiar with Production I.G. Please Save My Earth is a 6episode OVA that centres around a high school student Alice Sakaguchi her nextdoor neighbour 7yearold Rin Kobayashi and five other high school students who all have reoccurring unusual dreams about being alien scientists who look human in appearance who were tasked with observing and studying Earth while being stationed on the moon. Also the fact that the main cast realisation that theyre the reincarnations of those aliens now the events from their former selves complicate things in their current lives.
I usually have very low expectations when it comes to OVAs. They mainly range from absolute stinkers to pretty good in my experience. But to my surprise PSME went beyond pretty good. I only watched this because I was in the mood to watch something short before I watch a slightly longer anime. Ive discovered PSME through the YouTube algorithm. It was a video recommendation of an AMV of the anime I thought to myself Wow that was pretty charming I should pop that into my PTW list.
Although I did find it bizarre how Alice accidentally slapped Rin off the Balcony dont worry hes all right.

AMV
I did find the ending to be pretty rushed because it seemed like they were trying to wrap up everything at once in the last episode. Well Im guessing thats a normal thing to happen for most OVAs. Despite that the story is still interesting though. The OVA was probably just made to advertise the manga well I guess thats the purpose of most anime haha
Now the final thing I want to type about here is the ending sequence. I find it to be very haunting while also being calm at the same time. It may even help put a baby to sleep. The visuals also go well together nicely with the song. Basically its like a visual representation of the main cast trying to deal with remembering their past life in their current life. Honestly me describing it to you doesnt do the ending sequence justice just see it for yourself.

The Ending Sequence
Overall Please Save My Earth was a satisfying watch. Its a charming and philosophical anime while hitting you in the feels. Its an anime you all should check out when you get the chance to. And if you really enjoyed it there is more content in the manga which I havent read yet.
