I love love love stories that potentially fall under the finding love in the crab buckethttps://www.tumblr.com/impishglee/693987995862368256/thecruxoffindingloveinthecrabbucketis narrative link source: impishglee tumblr. Albeit it doesnt necessarily fit by the original posts description of enemies to lovers it does fit the scenario due to the story. Derrida and the heroine are characters in a crab bucket in an environment that has set them to fail. The cruelty lies in the perpetuation of this story Derrida as the villainess dies over and over and the Heroine is thus driven to depravation in attempting to keep her alive. Both by an outsiders point of view hurt each other. Especially considering the fact when the story reveals that Derrida is keenly aware shes a Villainess.
The beautiful thing about it all is that None of this is done nor enacted through malicious intent. Derrida towards the end explains herself as an outlet in which people can find solace to vent in this way her death is meaningful and the usual sorrow accompanied with death is therefore moot in a sense. The way that was written reminds me of Ursula K LeGuins work The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas. The story doesnt delve much into philosophical discussion of course although one could easily pick it apart and analyze what lies within but within the context of the story Derrida discards all that.
I adore the despite it all sort of stories in romance and this one is no exception. The heroine stumbles into the game and slowly but surely begins to selfishly mess with the story shaking Derridas resolve. To quote the heroine
Just seeing you breathe in and out makes me feel that I am lucky to be alive.
Which of course opposes everything that Derridas role is meant to symbolize. The role that she had long since settled into and was getting used to. The story ends with the both of them escaping the game or at least to tie in with the previous paragraph the crab bucket. In conclusion In a literal sense Love wins HELP.
Erm if you feel that the score I gave is low AELFEKAJKL NABITIN KASI SI KUYA SORRY. I wish the story was given a chance to breathe and get padded out but nevertheless in just a few chapters it was told so delightfully. Im just a yapper and a judger BUT I PROMMYYY IT COMES FROM A PLACE OF LOVE.
