Im not very good at writing decent reviews so Ill be editing them several times so please check out again to see if there are any changes. I guess its not too late to write this review. When I saw this series came out I wasnt excited hyped or expecting anything and Ive never read any Nisioisins work before I read Medaka Box after finishing this and of course I liked it but after reading it myself from the first chapter I fell in love with it right away. Its like its hypnotizing me into liking it even though I dont understand many things. First of all I would like to defend this manga from the criticism that I think is quite unfair. Dont believe what you see dont judge a manga after reading the first chapter and look for the message its trying to convey I think a lot of people stopped reading this manga right after the first chapter or two or three thinking it was going to be a crypto manga. Hey lets mine bitcoins Lets trade crypto and get rich or go bankrupt together This sounds like a really dumb plot especially for people who hate this kind of stuff or maybe they just thought it was a cheap harem manga because its a story about a boy who attends an allgirls school. Cryptocurrency bullshit Its one of the goals of this series if you want to know more see the spoiler here. Even with the cryptocurrency involved but believe me 80 of the chapters are just about codebreaking character interactions character relationships character drama and the story and lore that I find very fresh and interesting. a harem manga No no no no. I think the reason they made the protagonist look so feminine was for the sole purpose of making sure there was no romance involved and make him behave in a way that shows little interest in the opposite sex in terms of sexual desire. the same goes for his female friends who are not interested in him in a sexual way but more in a purely friendship way all in all I think its an interesting and wholesome character concept. The puzzles are very difficult the text is all over the place its not fun to read its definitely a bad manga I agree that the puzzles are too difficult for some although some are easy. this is the only thing I cant defend because its a matter of personal taste and I dont really care for these puzzles Im not smart enough to solve them out like many readers However I think its unfair to judge a manga based on cultural and language barriers. as for the large amount of text its truly the charm of reading manga. youll find me funny I like Hunter X Hunter a lot too but in my opinion I think this manga has very good and funny dialogues and flows like water which makes it not too annoying to read them all What makes this manga good and very underrated ? Characters The manga has a lot of characters but they all have their own unique personalities and distinctive designs makes them even more individualistic so that you will never get bored with these characters Art I found it to have a unique style. I wonder where this author found such great artists for his manga. since the artist of Medaka Box to Oh great who draw bakemonogatari and Air gear manga Every panel every page every spread is packed with the its own unique personality. believe me even if you dont like the story or the puzzles the art of this manga is definitely a mustsee. Story and idea Even though it seems to be something that is not compatible with Shonen Jump. but still has the elements of a shonen manga in every aspects. The protagonist wants to achieve his goals wants to make the world a better place wants to help people who are in trouble and wants his friends to accept him and character development through overcoming obstacles even though weve seen this a billion times in other shonen manga but this manga really shines in that regard. that makes people who are considered adults like me get emotional about it. Its a manga thats very friendshiporiented for me. No nudity no edginess no vulgarity just shonen. and the heartmelting wholesomeness in some moments and I think if it werent for the fact that it has a very specific theme it would be a manga thats suitable for all ages. What lessons can we learn from reading this manga? I think the author wants to convey many messages in his mind so this is what I can think of. Peace solidarity gender equality the power of friendship Mutual trust Acceptance Forgiveness Pure love without sex and benefits involved miscellaneous I wont spoil the story of the manga any further because I want everyone to try reading it. so please read and dont drop it. Even though it was canceled which makes me very sad. it definitely concluded everything very satisfactorily. so if youre looking for something short to read but with a lot of meaningful content this one is definitely for you. Its definitely not the best fiction of all time but its worth a try. and no Ill tell you again that you dont need N1 Japanese language skills or the intelligence of Stephen Hawking to understand this. just enjoy what is called the atmosphere and feeling....
