My Review of Les Misrables: Shoujo Cosette 320https://m.mediaamazon.com/images/M/MV5BOTg1ODM4YTItOTM4Yy00ZWJkLWIzZDItMjRlY2Q3ZWE5ZGRkXkEyXkFqcGc.V1.jpg People can change. Story This anime follows the story of two characters: Cosette and Jean Valjean. Despite not initially meeting from the start societal struggles and personal issues lead them to meet up. Now they have to face plenty of problems together and sometimes even meet faces from the past that could ruin their current lives. 320https://m.mediaamazon.com/images/M/MV5BMDQwMTcyZjYtNGRjYi00NmYwLWFlMmMtZDFhNjk5ODNmMmFjXkEyXkFqcGc.V1.jpg Characters Cosette is a kind and merciful girl. Despite being mistreated she still maintains her composure and tries her hardest not to lash out in anger. Jean Valjean like Cosette is a kindhearted man. Hes a mayor that wants to help the poor as much as he can before he passes away. However he is pinned as a criminal by police detective Javert. Hes emotionless cold and enforces the strict law of justice everywhere he goes. Eventually a dedicated guy by the name of Marius shows up in the anime who supports a revolution that plays a major role through the story. 320https://i.pin.com/736x/ec/b1/93/ecb193e6c48b1b72ef3c8e1a1fef9311.jpg The Good The first 12 episodes are so good at bringing out that sense of anger and frustration. All the pain and sorrow packed into that first section made the aftermath way more relieving and impactful than if they were to just shorten it. On the bright side I also got to learn about historical France. I learned enough that I kinda grew a hatred towards historical France. The storytelling was done pretty well. They were able to cram so many storylines into this anime and it didnt feel like a mess at all. One storyline that eventually grew on me was the storyline on Javert. His contributions to the main plot while also having his own story was told so well that it turned him from a hated to appreciated character for me. 320https://64.media.tumblr.com/c54a3c8f33fd932f4c0d701cd131cb99/tumblrinlinepa1yu8jSic1ttsu6g1280.jpg The Bad To be honest I felt that this anime was either too much or too slow for my liking. Im still not sure which is the one. I feel like the pacing wasnt bad but the content was also necessary to have that impact in later episodes. For some reason these 52 episodes felt way longer than 52 episodes and thats more than likely because of how much story and content is crammed into them. 320https://blogger.googleusercontent.com//b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTctFWkmbTnuulQ6CkxOmItoL5Bba68yshA7TB4prNcsH26YbpCD5T0kPpYixfQYLPBuLrOQh8Q21M1ZqLDxtsUUSK27VQiGCh6MXsGyNWCCZLQEX8J7dlloiguDm34zCRP9WNx/s1600/cosette081.png The Downright Ugly Apart from the anger I had initially gained from this anime theres nothing downright ugly in this anime. 320https://pbs.tw.com/media/EuZ0Hq2VcAAokDI.jpg:large Is It Worth The Watch? If youre willing to go through 52 episodes mostly filled with misery this is definitely worth the watch. Otherwise good luck not getting upset by the story. This anime is good at presenting societal issues and I wished justice wouldve come sooner. I personally enjoyed it despite those first 12 episodes of anguish mainly because the ending was worth the suffering. Alright. Im gonna go punch a wall now : Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope this helped you with your decision on whether to watch this anime or not If you already have watched it I hope that you can agree with me with some of the points I made. If you enjoyed this review I would greatly appreciate a follow too
