She is a Japanese mangaka who debuted in 1972 with Paris wa 11gatsu which was published in the special issue of Weekly Margaret Shueisha on April 10. Since then she has been actively working for shoujo magazines such as Weekly Seventeen. Her most famous work Nurse Station started serializing from 1991 in YOU magazine and continued for 11 years.
In 2001 she developed Parkinsons disease and subsequently had to retire from drawing manga. After having brain surgery in 2008 she made a return to the manga world with Nurse Station: Kanketsuhen.
