Rating Scale for Anime and Manga 1 A score of 10 doesnt necessarily mean its my alltime favorite just that I had an incredible experience with it. 2 My ratings are based purely on how much I enjoyed something. Even if a show/manga is critically flawed I might still rate it highly if I had fun with it. Likewise something that is technically great but didnt engage me wont get a high score. 3 A .5 rating e.g. 7.5 means it was overall in a certain tier but had standout aspects such as a fantastic soundtrack or a unique visual style. Note on short ads and promos: I usually rate promotional videos and TV ads around 5/10 since theyre often too short or too shallow to properly judge. I dont really engage with ads the way theyre intended theyve never made me buy anything or talk about a product. So I tend to treat them as mini pieces of animation/art rather than effective commercials. If something stands out in terms of animation creativity or style I might bump the score e.g. LOS ANGELES LAKERS x ONE PIECE. 10/10 Amazing I loved every moment of it. It deeply resonated with me and I could rewatch/reread it multiple times without getting bored. Any flaws were completely overshadowed by my enjoyment. 9/10 Great I had a fantastic time with it. While not quite at the level of a 10 it was still a highly enjoyable and memorable experience with only minor issues. 8/10 Very Good It had strong elements that stood outwhether in story characters or audiovisuals. Even if it wasnt perfect it left a lasting impression and was fun to experience. 7/10 Good A solid experience that I enjoyed overall but it didnt leave a strong impact. It had some great moments but also things that held it back from being truly special. 6/10 Okay I didnt dislike it but it didnt excite me either. There were enjoyable aspects but I wouldnt go out of my way to recommend it. A decent but forgettable experience. 5/10 Mediocre Neither particularly good nor bad. It had some potential but didnt do much for me in the end. I wouldnt say I wasted my time but I also wouldnt revisit it. 4/10 Disappointing I expected more but it fell short. Either it had serious flaws or just failed to engage me. Some aspects might have been decent but overall it was underwhelming. 3/10 Bad I actively disliked it. Whether it was frustrating writing boring execution or poor production I often found myself wondering why I kept going. 2/10 Terrible Watching/reading this felt like a chore. Nearly everything about it was a mess and I struggled to find anything enjoyable. 1/10 Awful Completely unenjoyable in every way. I regret experiencing it and would never want to go through it again. Rating Scale for Anime Openings and Endings 10/10 Amazing An absolute masterpiece. I can listen to it on repeat without getting tired of it and it never loses its impact. 9/10 Great A fantastic song that resonates with me emotionally. I find myself returning to it often and enjoying it every time. 8/10 Very Good A song I genuinely enjoy and find myself humming. It stands out enough that Id consider adding it to my playlist. 7/10 Good An enjoyable track with some standout moments. I wouldnt seek it out often but I appreciate it when I hear it. 6/10 Okay Decent with some likable aspects but it doesnt leave a strong impression. I wouldnt skip it but I wouldnt go out of my way to listen to it either. 5/10 Forgettable Neither good nor bad. It exists but it doesnt evoke any real reaction from me. 4/10 Weak Almost passable but let down by significant flaws. There might be one or two redeeming qualities but they dont save it. 3/10 Bad Below average mostly unpleasant or forgettable with only a few slightly interesting moments. 2/10 Very Bad Difficult to sit through. Lacks appeal feels poorly executed or is actively irritating. 1/10 Awful Completely unenjoyable. A painful listening experience with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
